On March 23, 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful premiered on the CBS Television Network. Set in the glamorous world of the Los Angeles fashion industry, the series marks its 20th anniversary on March 23, 2007, and has garnered critical accolades with over 35 Daytime Emmy Awards and worldwide acclaim. Ronn Moss portrays the world famous fashion designer Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful.
The Bold and the Beautiful, created by the late William J. Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell, is currently written and executive produced by William and Lee's son, Bradley, and boasts four original cast members who remain integral parts of the story structure: Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), John McCook (Eric Forrester) and Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester). It is also the first daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish via SAP (Secondary Audio Program) technology.
B&B's unique combination of deep romance and brash story telling has made it a signature part of the CBS Daytime lineup.
The show is now over 5000 episodes strong and viewed in more than 140 countries. These past two decades have been a fantastic journey of storytelling through an endless barrage of blank pages eager to be filled with romance, intrigue, cliffhangers and sometimes teardrops.
The Bold and the Beautiful's 20th Anniversary storylines center around Brooke and Ridge's always stormy relationship, young Phoebe (Mackenzie Mauzy) and Rick's (Kyle Lowder) forbidden romance, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and Nick's (Jack Wagner) newfound love, and the competition between fashion houses Forrester Creations and Forrester Originals for control of the industry. The show went on location to Sydney, Australia in 2007 and were broadcasted the week of March 22nd to coincide with the series' anniversary.
B&B has remained current and topical with storylines touching on issues such as HIV, drug and alcohol dependency, rape, homelessness, the trauma of serious illness and child abuse.
Throughout its long history, many of Hollywood's most famous names have made appearances on the show, including Phyllis Diller, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Betty White, Usher, Charlton Heston, Mike Piazza, Erik Estrada, Arturo Sandoval, Dionne Warwick and James Doohan.
Bradley Bell vividly recalls the day Ronn Moss arrived at the studio to read for the role of Ridge, the Forresters' oldest son. Bradley recounts, "We were casting Ridge and Ronn Moss came in. There was something about him. My dad calls it the 'x' factor. It's a mystery. We looked at several wonderful actors, but Ronn had something that you couldn't quite figure out. It's something that's hard to find, and is really valuable, especially in the way that my dad tells a story." Hope Smith, who was also present at the casting sessions, says, "Ronn had a 'Peck's bad boy' quality about him and a great sense of humor. He was also devastatingly good-looking." "We knew Ronn was our Ridge," states Bradley. Twenty years ago...and Ronn is STILL Ridge. Let them holler!

"Ronn and I have always had a great chemistry playing conflict, because we're such good friends off camera," says Harmon. "We know we can be mean to each other on camera and stab each other in the back. When it's over, there are no egos there. It doesn't matter who wins. We love doing it, because it's fun."
