*BY TINA REICHOW* Princeton, MN February 17, 1978
On Friday, February 17, 1978, PLAYER was on the show "Midnight Special". I saw how cute these guys were so I called my friend after the first song "Baby Come Back". I told her that we were going to see these guys tomorrow as they are making an appearance at the local record store before the show that night. PLAYER was the special guest of Eric Clapton at the St. Paul Civic Center, MN. We decided the next day that we needed to stop and buy John, the drummer, a special treat. We noticed he was chewing gum quite a lot on "Midnight Special" the night before. Time was of the essence as my friend Patty had to go to work soon. PLAYER was running late. We saw them get out of the limo and hurried to be first in line. The first guy sitting at the table was Ronn Moss. He signed my album and sheet music (Baby Come Back), then I asked him for a kiss. It was short and sweet but to the point. My shy friend asked for a handshake. Next up was Wayne Cook, and he also signed the same. We gave the gum to John Friesen who seemed surprised that we brought him a gift. He said he'd chew it at the concert that night. Then we stepped down the line to Peter Beckett. He signed the album and sheet music also. I looked at him and asked him for a kiss. I was expecting him to lean over the table and give me a peck like Ronn, but instead he got up, walked around the table, pulled me real close, put his arms around my hips, and our lips touched. It seemed to me like an eternity. I had died and gone to heaven. I could hear the teeny boppers squealing in the background. I had my hands around his waist. I remember thinking to myself, "this guy really knows how to sell records". Then he asked with his adorable accent,"are you ladies coming to the show tonight?" We didn't have tickets and I believe the show was sold out. My friend Patty reminded me that she had to go to work soon, so I stepped over to J.C. Crowley to get his autograph. He also kissed me but it wasn't nearly as great as Peter's. Later that year, November 27th, PLAYER was the special guest of Heart at the Met Sports Center, MN. This venue is now a parking lot for the famous Mall Of America. I went with my boyfriend Mark, my friend Patty, and her boyfriend Ron. We had really good seats on the floor. I sent Mark closer to the stage to snap a few photos of the band. I said "be sure to get the guy with the beard and mustache playing guitar. I kind of know him", remembering the kiss earlier in the year. The band played most of the songs from the 'Danger Zone' LP. They of course did "Baby Come Back" and "This Time I'm In It For Love", which Mark ruined by singing along. It was an awesome show, and I will always have fond memories of PLAYER and Peter Beckett.

* BY SHIRLEY CAMERON* Melbourne, Australia September 2006
WOW !! I am still coming down to earth.......no, I didn't faint, came very close, but stayed strong..... Ronn in Concert is the most amazing thing that I will ever see in my life, he truly gives more than 100% of himself and makes you feel like you are the only fan in the world. I am totally in awe of his talent, and trust me ladies (and gents) this man is nothing like Ridge (and I always have a soft spot for Ridge) Ronn Moss ROCKED the entire theatre, you could feel it all the way through your feet, right up .... and I don't mean to sound over-emotional or corny, but I felt it right into my heart !! I don't know how else to describe the feeling, Ronn gave so much of himself that night, and speaking for myself, I took it all. Ronn is truly awesome, he has amazing talent, musically he is the BEST......... The concert itself started off with an Aussie guy, a very talented guy by the name of Mark O'Shea, he reminded me of Bruce Springsteen in a lot of ways, a lot of energy, bandana, great voice/music etc.... Mark is well worth checking out, google his name, or check another thread in the forum, someone posted his address. Peter Beckett.......ROCKS his socks off, he is truly gifted and very under-known by a lot of people.
Peter sang his Player's big hit ''Baby Come Back'' and moved me to tears with the emotion of the song, how he hit's that top note is truly emotional to me, I held my breath and he gave a long, extended version of that top note........... truly delicious !! Ronn brought me to tears so many times that night, truly, if you ever get the chance to see Ronn live........please for your own sake, DO IT, you will never, ever get the same feeling with anything else.... I am truly, TRULY the luckiest fan in the world...... YES, I MET RONN, AND HE GAVE ME THE MOST GENEROUS, HEART WARMING HUG...... I KISSED HIM ON HIS CHEEK, AND I AM STILL ON CLOUD 9.............. not coming down for a looooooooonnnnnnggggggg time, if ever !! Ronn has the uncanny ability, of making you feel like you are the most important person in the world, when he talks to you, he looks into your eyes and speaks to YOU......no distractions, no sideway glances, no glazed eyes like a lot of people get when they are tired.......none of that, and Ronn and the guys had been up since 5.30 that morning, and this was now past midnight....... No, Ronn is THE nicest guy, with the most caring nature that I have ever met (with the exception of Brian, my hubby) Ronn is absolutely, the friendliest and the most generous guy, and I will give thanks for the rest of my life, that I was lucky enough to see him in concert doing........what he does BEST, ROCKING ON !!! I was also very lucky to meet and chat with Peter Beckett himself, and here's another guy who is very down to earth and generous........no wonder he and Ronn Moss are best mates, they are a totally gorgeous duo..... SHIRLEY'S STORY CONTINUED There was an almighty line up to see Ronn, possibly 100 salivating, younger and older women ( and men ??) ready to pounce on anyone trying to push in line !! Hubby was the first to see Peter coming through the doors, from the venue.....before I knew anything, he marched across with his hand extended to Peter, being a good ol Aussie country boy, and said ''Hey Peter, how ya goin' mate ?...'' Peter, pretty much had no choice but to shake his hand and stop......my hubby is a ''sizable'' obstacle to try and avoid..... Peter was and is the nicest of nice guys, he stood and chatted with us, while the line for Ronn got smaller and smaller.......but, I figured to myself...... I'VE got PETER BECKETT...... Ronn's best friend, so I'm in with more of a chance of getting to meet my Ronn too.....( devious thoughts for devious times !!! ) I handed Peter a long stemmed red rose, and I told him it was from FLAME/Patti the lovely lady who does his website, he had a smell of the rose, it had a lovely perfume.....( I test-smelled it beforehand ).... smiled a melting smile and said ''Patti, that crazy/funny girl'' He told me that he saw my sign straight away when he came out..... I had a ''reversable'' sign that said ''SHIRL FROM OZ LOVES YOU'', of course that was for RONN.....and on the other side it had ''FLAME FROM NJ LOVES YOU''.... and of course the FLAME side was the first thing he saw when he came on stage..... When Ronn came on stage, I put up the SHIRL side and he gave me the thumbs up sign.........later on, when he sang ''It's All About You'', he was pointing to the audience, and I put up the SHIRL side again and he pointed straight at me and kept pointing for a few seconds........my heart stopped right then and I was in heaven.......... Of course, I gave Ronn his red rose from me, he thanked me very much and smiled his gorgeous smile and I was lost........ hubby said that I made perfect sense, but I can't remember. All that practice and dreaming of what I wanted to say to Ronn, must have paid off...... It was an absolute pleasure meeting Peter and he simply loves what Patti does for him.... we talked about nothing else, but the website....... I told him that she is a very generous person, not only with Peter's fans, sending us cds of Player and of him.....but she is generous enough to help us keep Ronn's forum alive with her terrific posts there....... and I've saved the best for last.... Peter said......''yes, that definitely sounds like Patti......''

*BY KAREN TOPP* Brisbane, Australia 2006
I live near Brisbane, and saw Ronn's 2 shows - in Nambour and 'Brisbane' (really in Kallangur). Hubby came with me to the Nambour show, but I took my sister and mother to the show in Kallangur. I tell you, we were ALL absolutely blown-away by the amount of incredible TALENT on stage!!! I used to be addicted to B&B when I first started my husband's and my family...but after 10 yrs or so, I weaned myself off it. It was only in the last few years after seeing Ronn on Aussie interviews, that I discovered his amazing singing talents!!! I only recently learned that BABY COME BACK was song I used to sing along to when I was a kid!!!
Anyway, my sister's been through hell and back over the last year, after being diagnosed in July of last year, with cancer. I really wanted to do something extra special for her (not that she's a huge RIDGE fan, but she does try to watch B&B regularly if time and opportunity permits), so I organised a special 'meeting' with Ronn for the 3 of us, after the Kallangur show. It was a surprise for Michelle...she was SOOOO touched by my efforts, which was lovely...and spending 10 minutes chatting with wonderful Ronn...well, that was simply the icing on the cake. :-)
I took a few pics (QUITE a few pics!) of the band during the Kallangur (Brisbane) show. My goodness...Peter is absolutely fantastic, too! So amazing (hubby was incredibly impressed, too)...and do you know what memory of him will stay with me forever...?
After the show, Mum, Michelle and I were sitting, waiting til the end of the 'signing' queue (we decided at the last minute, to get a couple more posters signed for 2 of our daughters...)...and there was a lone, large-ish lady sitting not far from us. Peter walked up from the stage, and went straight to her...asking her if she enjoyed herself. What a sweetie...that really impressed me. Unfortunately, the lady didn't seem to want to talk too much, but we all congratulated him...and now I wish I had've taken the time to just stop and chat longer with him. I bought Mark and Ronn's new CDs...and find myself being totally 'lost' in another world, listening to their songs...just beautiful. Exactly my 'genre' of music...love it dearly. Gorgeous lyrics, too...I'm so jealous of their writing abilities... Mind you, it's inspired me to get back into song-writing again... :-) Gee I had a good couple of nights, at those shows! Can't wait til they return... hopefully very soon... :-)
P.S. When we were waiting backstage, Corey came down, and our presence took him somewhat by surprise! He was the funny and charming guy that he is, chatted to us for a while, and then graciously left when he knew Ronn was almost with us. He seems like a LOT of fun, too

About ten years back when Peter and Ronn released "Lost In Reality", they had a Player web site. I ordered my CD from the site and wrote an email about how much I've always enjoyed their music. Ronn was nice enough to send along a picture that he and Peter autographed as well as a nice letter of thanks written on the back of a page of script from Bold And Beautiful. A great l gesture that I will always treasure. Obviously both Peter and Ronn are great guys.

*BY PAT SAMMY* Mohegan Sun Casino, CT 2001
I saw Player a few years back again at the Mohegan Sun Casino they were awesome. Craig was the drummer at the concert - very good. We had a fun time - went with my husband. We sat right up front - right beneath Ronn. Amy Farina was his Fan Club Pres. for a long time - she lives in CT. We correspond from time to time. They did a few songs from way back when - Baby Come Back of course etc. and then some rock and roll. They did some solos and told some stories and jokes. We had a great time. Then Peter picked a few women (girls) out of the audience to come up on stage and sing "Johnny Be Good" with them. It was so surreal - still can't believe I went up there. My husband and Amy were cheering for me. My husband even had a good time "which he really didn't want to go in the first place but it was my birthday - so he took me". After the show they stayed and signed autographs and talked to us. I had a picture taken with Ronn (whom I adore) and then I wanted one with Peter (who I also adore) and Ronn. They were so pleasant - like I have known them forever.

*BY ANGELIQUE* The Netherlands
It was a great day I would meet Ronn in NL!!He was in the Netherlands for the promotion of his then new cd 'I'm Your Man', and he would do a signing session in a shopping center near my house. I was so excited that I went there 6 hours before the session would start...you never know what to expect and of course I wanted to stand in front of the line, and in his sight!
The people from the shopping mall looked at me and said: well we still have to put everything in order here, because they hadn't done anything yet. And to be honest, I think they thought I was mad for being there so early... but hey if you want to be the first you have to come on time. I was there while they put everything up, a table, chair and a poster and lots and lots of his cd's.. and also gates to hold back the fans.. well fans, it was only me with my mom at that time. I called my friend Wilmar to tell her that she could take it easy getting there, because I was in front of the line and we could wait before the gates!! The people there were really nice and friendly. So mom and me waited until some more people came and finally it was getting busy around the table area and I could just wait and sit until he showed up. It is nice to feel special! :-)
Finally the moment was there and Ronn came in, everybody started to take photo's of him and scream his name it was fun. I just saw him at that moment, through my lens of the camera, I just shot as many photo's as I could. He then took a seat and there he was right in front of me.. couldn't say anything, then just "Hi!" Ronn laughed and then I was also feeling better, so I asked him to sign a photo, and of course he did and we took some photo's together. Because of the fact that it was so busy, my mom couldn't take a shot of us together. I then saw a photographer standing in the crowd that I knew and asked him if he could take the photo, and he did. ( I work in a photolab for many years now) so I know a lot of photographers, but he didn't know about my "hobby" and thought it was very funny. He took some great shots of me and Ronn together and later on I took great photo's of my mom with Ronn.. He is so nice and he just signed and signed and signed, and posed and posed for photo's without getting tired...at least he didn't show that. In that hour I took more then 500 photo's in case some of the photo's didn't turn out the way I hoped. You just keep taking them..but he did look in my camera a couple of times so I got some great ones! Thanks Ronn!!
There I also met Peter, I think I was the only one there who knew who he was, which was funny. We ( mom, me and my friend Wilmar ) got a photo with him too. He is such a sweet man. He had to laugh when he saw all the fans waiting there for Ronn. I told him that I liked the songs from Player very much. He told us that he traveled with Ronn and that they would also do some TV performances later on in that week. So of course I took off from work and again we went after "our guys" because at that point Peter was also part of our party!
We went to a TV program called Cor & Co. and there Peter would play with Ronn together a song. When the TV host asked us if we knew him before the taping started we of course said yeeeeeeeessssssssss!!! They started laughing. I could still take pics but it was too far away. The TV host said to me, well see how close I am, I can even touch him.. so I just blurded out: " well then you take the photo's for us".. so everyone started laughing. What I never expected was that the host took my camera and indeed took photo's for us! He asked if anyone knew who he is, pointing to Peter, and again I said yes, they're Player together. The host didn't even know who that was, and so he asked them to sing a part of the song, "Baby Come Back" and then he knew.. He asked me "but aren't you to young to know that?" Yes.. but when your a fan you know things like that.
During the final tapes the host also asked them to sing a part of "Baby Come Back" because they had a hit in the 70s with that song.. duh.. quess who he got that from? After the show, we got a photo again with Ronn...Peter was already in the car. It was a great week, one of many I will never forget. Do hope to meet Peter again someday, and then together with Ronn I hope...or better said as Player! Would love to see the guys perform live.. maybe someday!

*BY KATE from Australia* September 2006
As the song goes, I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE! Ronn really blew me away this time. As I was the first person to book at this venue, I got the best seats in the house. Today's crowd was much younger than yesterdays, so had to fight ALOT of women to get close to him lol. All you Aussies who have seen Ronn in the Berri juice ad, well he yelled out "Bloody Oath" a couple of times when he was asked to, and it was so funny!
When he was singing the song "Its All about YOU", he would sing "YOU" to people, and he said it to me at one point. I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven at that very precise point. At the end, I got the chance to get my picture taken with him and had him sign a couple of things. I had a photo with him from earlier this year (or was it late last year??) which I had him sign and he was really impressed to see it. Also had him to sign a poster of this tour and guess what I got him to write on it??? "THE HOUSE OF BRIDGE ROCKS!"
Ronn in such an amazing man. You can tell he totally adores his fans and he so gets a kick out of performing on stage. He is a total legend. Guys, after the 3 times I have seen RM, I can honestly say we should be proud to be fans of RM because the guy rocks. He is so far from being egotistical and he just loves interacting with his fans. Oh, I also had a nice 'chat' with him. LMFAO is all I can say!

PETER AND RONN

*BY PETER HABIB* Tuesday, 12 September 2006
Last week I took a week off work to head back home to Adelaide to visit mum and dad. Four months back mum bought a new PC, it was delivered and it sat dutifully in the lounge room waiting for number one son to fly back and set it up. I decided it was about time to head back home and set up the new one so mum could send emails and surf the web. Arriving at Melbourne Airport at 5.50 am Tuesday morning – needless to say I bought the “thriftiest” ticket of the day – I queued up patiently to use the new self-check in terminals. Wonderful invention they are – except for the unfortunate people I was standing behind.
Eventually I made it to the plane and was the third last person to board. Needless to say there were many multiples of eyes staring at me as I made it to my seat. As I sat there meekly trying to recount whether I had packed enough socks and underwear to last me the entire week, I noticed someone very familiar to me walk on board.
Suddenly the sounds of saxophones entered my head. Visions of expensive Italian silk draped scantly on models filled my head – closely followed by images of actors peering vacantly into the distance. I blinked. Blinked again. Blinked a third time. I then stopped the ridiculous blinking as my eyes started to strain, but I definitely recognised who was seated two rows in front of me: Ronn Moss(www.cbs.com) – but you all probably best know him as Ridge Forrester off of The Bold and the Beautiful!
Suddenly two things raced to my head: oxygen due to the pressurised cabin and thoughts of how I would incorporate this into my blog. How should I approach him and tell him how I wasted endless hours of precious study time at high school and university watching Brooke, Taylor, Logan – no wait, that’s Brooke – Stephanie, Sally, Sheila and of course, his good-self, on television. But then I thought, no, I would look like a warped fan. I needed an excuse.
So I awkwardly come back to the new computer. When we arrived in Adelaide I rushed, ever so subtly, after Ronn. Eventually I caught up with him as he entered the rest rooms. Probably not a good idea to follow him in there as that would be a little too freaky. So I turned to his minders and asked: “Was that Ronn Moss from Bold and the Beautiful?” The reply was yes. So I decided to pull on the emotional heart strings. “Oh wow, my, um, mum, is such a huge fan. She’ll never believe that I was actually on the plane with him. “I’ve actually traveled over here from Melbourne, where I now live, especially to visit mum just to set up a new PC for her. Hey – do you think he’ll mind if you would be so kind as to take a photo with me and him? It’ll mean so much for mum! It will really make her day." So here I am – wracked with guilt – obviously mum has never watched an episode of Bold and the Beautiful in her life. But I did manage to get a photo with Ridge!

BY KC AVALON, CANBERRA AUSTRALIA ****************************************
When I arrived at the venue, I tried not to mingle with the Bold and the Beautiful people, and fans who were interested in one thing..Ridge. I entered the concert room and noticed that there were only a few people hanging around the bar. They must be roadies as they are pretty casual. Don't look at me, I think to myself, I have a ticket. It must be the beret and red lips. It wasn't. The show hadn't started yet and no-one was meant to be in there. So I high tailed it out and joined the throngs, ok there were about twenty odd people outside. When they eventually allowed us in, everyone made their way to the tables. The place filled up, and I noticed that the crowd was quite mixed, average age 55 - 60 year old women. Some men who obviously had no idea what they were doing there. Everyone at our table was dragged there by some family member or a B & B fan. I made polite conversation with them, yes, I know Ronn Moss sings, yes, Player rules, yes Peter Beckett is the star of Player. Yes Peter is very talented. Wow, you know alot about them musically. Well, yes. I don't watch B&B, I usually work when it's on.
What felt like ten hours later, after a performance by Mark O'Shea, the band slowly made their way out. Am I embarrased or what! The one from the bar must be Peter Beckett. I decided to stop being cool and put my glasses on. Wow , it is him. I could have bugged him before the concert. Missed my chance.
The concert was all about Ronn, his career in music, which of course mentioned Player. Due to his life choices acting took over. But Peter was introduced to the crowd and was greeted enthusiastically. Ronn and assorted females and males played a few covers, then Peter took over and took 'Baby Come Back" to a new high for me. I was probably the only one singing. To me that song is a repeater, not an oldie, still fresh and recent. I could have listened to Peter all night. The audience went crazy, they actually realized Peter was famous and talented and not more eye candy to support Ronn. They all knew the song too. Go figure. It's played daily on the radio in Australia ever since it came out. He only played solo on that one track, then Ronn resumed. It was over too soon.
I got my autograph from Ronn, second in line, then headed for the stage area. Most of the band was hanging around, drinking, laughing etc. The crowd was around Ronn at the other end of the room, like flies to honey, I mean like bees to honey, all the way back to the stage area. So the stage area was empty except for the band. My heart started thumping, well it was still beating madly after Ronn, but now I had a new mission. Find Peter. I couldn't see him, so I asked the band where he was, was he coming out to sign autographs etc? No I didn't want theirs, just Peter's. One of the guys went backstage and came back with information on Peter's whereabouts. While I waited, I looked around at the hordes of women flocking around Ronn, geez, get a life. Talked a bit to Christian the drummer from France, in French you know, it's my first language, then I asked Mark for his pen to get an autograph, cheeky eh, not from him, from Peter.
While I stood there, not wanting to act like a groupie, I stayed back a bit, other women started to come over and talk to Mark and Christian, they were 50 odd years old fawning over Mark. Back down women, they were the drunkest, craziest dancers in the Moss pit.
This is the bit I like best..meeting fellow Peter and Ronn music lovers. This young girl made a comment to Christian and Mark - "I didn't now that Ronn Moss was into music and stuff." I said 'What are you here for then, not to see Ridge, I hope?" Then get this, she says "That guy in the white shirt (Peter B), he was ok too". I said "I should think so after all this time"
She said "What do you mean?"' I said "He has been playing for awhile now, you know" Christian added "yes, he is old isn't he!" He and I laughed, sharing a moment." So I walked off and waited some more for Peter.
Here he comes, the guys called out to me and I approached and said hello and asked for the framed autograph I have now. He asked me my name and I said KC, he said how's the band and I said I hadn't heard that one before, we laughed. He's got a great pommie accent. Then I called Brian (my boyfriend) over to take a pic, Peter kindly obliged. (Check out the pic above, it's gorgeous!) Didn't score one with Ronn, didn't have the nerve to ask, though he would have, cos I've seen countless ones on the internet. But no-one has the one like Peter and me...
Got ready for the concert of the century, well at least the new century. Ronn Moss and Peter Beckett of Player fame were coming to Australia for a set of concerts to promote Ronn. |

The venue was at Campbelltown Catholic Club, but the date was wrong on my camera. I think it was 26th August 2006. Maybe Ronn will remember, hehehe. It was really so much fun for me to sit right in front of him. I shook his hand and welcomed him to Sydney while he was up on the stage. Then later when he was giving up the story about The Bold and The Beautiful, I screamed out... "Ridge belongs with Taylor, he should go back to her." Well, you should see the look he gave me, hahaha. It was like "are you kidding? Ridge will always be with Brook." Hahahaha! I just slid down into my seat, so he wouldn't frown at me any more. So funny!
